Family-owned since 1974, Naked Mountain is a 41-acre mountain retreat on the sunrise side of the Blue Ridge, about an hour from Washington, D.C. and just off I-66. Great Virginia wine, a good view, and nowhere you need to be.
A Virginia Winery With Roots as Deep as the Mountain
Naked Mountain has been pouring wine since 1974, which makes us one of the founding commercial wineries in the Commonwealth. Before anyone called this "wine country," there were vines here, on the sunrise side of the Blue Ridge, catching the first light over Fauquier County.
Today it's a family story. Our owners first came up the mountain as customers. They fell in love with the place, took a leap of faith, and now carry the tradition forward for everyone who makes the drive. That's why a visit here feels less like a tasting room and more like being welcomed onto the porch.
Every bottle is made from 100% Virginia-grown vinifera grapes, and every pour comes from people who genuinely love talking about it. No wine degree required. Just bring your curiosity (and maybe a friend).

Fan Favorite wines
Chardonnay/riesling
A crowd-favorite, our most popular wine struts the line between dry and sweet. Aromas of honeysuckle and fresh peaches speak to summertime! The palate is juicy and crisp with flavors of mango and gardenia. The finish is light and refreshing, with a gentle sweetness.
Raptor red
Our signature Bourdeaux-style blend! Medium bodied and excellent with food, this red blend begins with notes of tart cherry and fresh cut cedar. The palate is bright and fruit-forward with flavors of raspberry jam and ripe blackberry. The finish is velvety and supple and boasts notes of oak and vanilla with young and robust tannins.
Barrel Fermented Chardonnay
Our signature white wine begins with aromas of buttered toast, subtle stone fruit and a hint of honey. The palette is bright, yet full, with flavors of popped corn and a gentle acidity. The finish lingers with hints of smoke and butter pecan.
